Charter of Conduct

Crew's Mandate

As members of this group, we’re bound not only by the thrill of renaissance faires but also by respect for each other. This Charter of Conduct lays out how we interact as a community, both at events and behind the scenes. It’s our promise to keep the atmosphere fun, respectful, and safe for everyone involved.

By following these guidelines, we ensure that every crewmate—new and seasoned alike—can enjoy the camaraderie, laughs, and high-seas spirit that bring us together.

The Charter of Conduct

All members of the Atlantic Raiders Coalition are expected to uphold its values by conducting themselves with integrity, respect, and inclusivity at all times. This applies to interactions with both fellow members and non-members whenever representing the “crooked cross”. Members are encouraged to embody the Coalition’s principles both in official settings and any public scenarios where they are identifiable as part of the group. This includes:

  1. Members shall treat each other with respect and kindness, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  2. Members shall be open to diverse perspectives. Discriminatory language, gestures, or actions, including but not limited to those based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, or disability, will not be tolerated.
  3. Members are encouraged to communicate openly and constructively. Disagreements should be addressed calmly and respectfully.
  4. Members are encouraged to consider and respect others’ accessibility needs and offer help when appropriate.
  5. Members should be truthful in their communication and avoid any forms of dishonesty, misrepresentation, or manipulation.
  6. If a member feels uncomfortable or unsafe, they are encouraged to report this to the Captains, which will address the issue promptly and confidentially.
