Nyxaria “Nyx” Moonshadow

Nyx of the Seelie Court

Beneath the full moon of December 1515, deep within the rolling hills of Southern Scotland, Nyx Moonshadow was born. She was the daughter of Eluned Moonshadow, a high Fae lady of the Seelie Court, and Tristan, a mortal sea captain whose adventures had carried him across the vast, uncharted waters of the world.

So it begins...

Nyx’s early years were spent in the ethereal beauty of the Seelie Court, surrounded by shimmering magic and the whispers of the wind through ancient trees. But despite the enchantment of her homeland, her heart was drawn to the sea. She grew up listening to her father’s tales of faraway lands, storm-tossed voyages, and hidden treasures, dreaming of a life beyond the boundaries of her mother’s domain. While other Fae honed their magic in the delicate arts of healing or illusion, Nyx practiced navigation, studied maps, and watched the stars, longing for the day she might set sail herself.

Then, one fateful day, her father’s ship failed to return. His vessel had vanished, swallowed by the sea without a trace. Grief-stricken, Eluned forbade Nyx from ever following his path, warning her that the mortal world was cruel and that the ocean would take her as it had taken Tristan. But the more her mother tried to keep her confined to the Seelie lands, the stronger Nyx’s yearning for the open waters became.

On a moonless night, she made her choice. Slipping away from the court’s hidden glades, she journeyed to the nearest harbor, where the scent of salt and adventure filled the air. She had no coin, no name among the sailors, but she had something rarer—her magic. She used her Fae gifts to find her way onto a ship bound for unknown waters, hiding among the crew until she could prove her worth.

The sea was everything she had imagined and more—fierce, wild, and untamed. Life among pirates was brutal, but Nyx quickly adapted. She used her magic to sense storms before they arrived, to call upon the wind when the sails fell slack, and to see through illusions cast by rival sorcerers. She learned to wield a blade, to fight like a mortal, and to command respect through her cunning and skill. In time, she was no longer just a stowaway or a deckhand; she became a sailor, a fighter, a pirate.

Now, Nyx sails aboard the Siren’s Wail, a ship feared and revered on the high seas. But her journey is far from over. She still searches for answers about her father’s fate, listening for whispers in the wind and the currents that pull at her soul. With her Fae magic and her battle-honed instincts, she is both a formidable ally and a deadly foe, determined to carve her own legend upon the waves.

And perhaps, one day, she will uncover the truth hidden beneath the sea.
